A Christ - Centered Legacy

Mother’s Day is often a time of flowers, celebration, and appreciation for the women who have nurtured, prayed for, sacrificed, and stood faithfully for their families and communities. Yet beyond the gifts and celebrations lies something even more meaningful—the legacy of a life lived for Christ.
This past Sunday at All Nations Church HP, we reflected on the message A Christ-Centered Woman from Acts of the Apostles 9:36–43 through the story of Tabitha, also known as Dorcas. Her story is not one filled with fame, titles, or public recognition, but it is filled with something far greater: faithful service rooted in Christ.
Tabitha’s life reminds us that living under the Cross means living with purpose. Scripture describes her as “always doing good and helping the poor.” She used the gifts God had placed in her hands, her compassion, generosity, and ability to serve; to impact the lives of others. Her quiet faithfulness became a testimony so powerful that many people came to believe in Jesus because of her life.
In a world that often measures value by visibility and recognition, Tabitha teaches us that heaven measures differently. A Christ-centered life is not about being seen by crowds; it is about being faithful where God has placed you. Whether through encouraging words, acts of kindness, prayer, hospitality, or caring for others, every act done for God’s glory carries eternal significance.
Mother’s Day especially reminds us of the influence women carry. Mothers, grandmothers, spiritual mothers, mentors, sisters, and caregivers often shape lives in unseen ways. Through prayers whispered late at night, sacrifices made quietly, and love shown consistently, they reflect the heart of Christ to those around them. Their legacy is not built merely in moments of celebration but in daily acts of faithfulness.
The challenge from Sunday’s sermon continues to speak to all of us this week:
Stay rooted in Christ.
Our purpose begins with being disciples of Jesus before anything else.
Use your gifts to serve others.
God has uniquely equipped each person with gifts meant to bless others and glorify Him.
Be a witness through your life.
Sometimes the greatest sermons are not preached from a pulpit but lived out through compassion, humility, and love.
Share your story.
Never underestimate the power of telling someone what Jesus has done in your life.
As First Epistle of Peter 4:10 reminds us, “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
Living under the Cross means surrendering our lives completely to Christ and allowing Him to work through us daily. It means building a legacy not centered on ourselves, but on pointing others toward Jesus.
This week, take a moment to reflect:What kind of legacy am I building?Who can experience the love of God through my life? How can I use what God has placed in my hands to serve others more faithfully?
May we continue to live Christ-centered lives that shine brightly in our homes, churches, workplaces, and communities. And may our lives, like Tabitha’s, become testimonies that lead others closer to Jesus.
