Why Jesus is More than Enough For your Life

ree

In 1 Timothy 2:5, Paul says, There is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus. So we don't need bigger barns to find rest because Jesus has finished all the work.

His mission is not to smooth out our circumstances, make them nice and normal. Rather it's to transform our hearts, to restore our relationship with God and with one another, to deal with our real enemies, sin, shame, guilt, suffering, death.

And you know the best part of this mission? We get to be part of that mission. We get to reflect the love of God and share his truth and make disciples and pray for others and serve others in our community and the world beyond. We get to be part of the mission that God is doing in the world to bring transformation and healing and reconciliation.

You and I get to do that. And remember this, you don't need to be perfect to be powerful in the hands of God. You only need to be available and be faithful. That is what Jesus is all about and He's all after. That's where real life is found. And so the bottom line is this, life does not consist in the abundance of wealth, but in being rich towards God.

That's how we rise above fear, anxiety, worry about what future may or may not have, the striving and the working hard. That's how we rise above and overcome and fight this fight for freedom and joy because we know that life does not consist of how much we have no matter how much it could look like. That's how we live rooted and grounded, not in wealth, but in the unwavering faithfulness of God.
