The New Walk: Embracing Life in Jesus

ree

If Jesus has reconciled us back to our Father, then we are to walk in a manner worthy of that calling, manner worthy of that salvation. Dale Johnson is saying, we have been walking in a world that is shaped by culture and by competition. A world shaped by striving and unbelief.

But with the coming of Jesus Christ, another world has come. It is one that is shaped by the gospel, by good news, by healing, by restoration and by forgiveness. And that world has invaded this world. This old world is gone because Jesus, the kingdom of God has come. It is actively at work in our life.

And so Paul says in Ephesians 1:1-6, come now, leave, and walk in that world that is brought by the coming of Jesus Christ. Walk the new walk in Christ. You have been called into this reality. And so that's what gives us the courage to take risk in faith, to show kindness to others. It could be those who are side-drawn by society, the minority, the poor, the homeless, the immigrants. It could also be people within our lives who feel unloved, rejected, wounded, or hurt. The needs in our world are enormous.

They are huge. But we can be thankful that God is actually in charge of the world
