Prayer & Fasting

We are entering an All Nations Season of Prayer and Fasting. 25 days set apart to intentionally seek the Lord as we launch into the next season of ministry. This is an invitation for our entire church family to participate. All are encouraged to join.

This season is designed for intergenerational participation, from children and youth to adults.
What Is Fasting?
Fasting is the self-denial of normal necessities in order to intentionally attend to God in prayer. It brings our attachments and cravings to the surface, opening space for prayer.
The physical awareness of emptiness becomes a reminder to turn to Jesus—who alone can truly satisfy.
It is letting go of an appetite in order to seek God on matters of deep concern for ourselves, for others, and for the world.

The Practice May Include:
-
Abstaining from food, drink, or desserts to intentionally be with God
-
Abstaining from media to create space to listen to the voice of Jesus
-
Abstaining from habits or comforts to give God undivided attention
-
Repenting and waiting on God
-
Seeking strength to persevere, obey, and serve
Guidelines: -
Do not fast if you are sick or feeling unwell
-
Stay hydrated—drink plenty of water and fluids
-
If this is a new experience, begin by fasting from one meal and spend that time with God
-
Fasting hours are from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM
-
Have your Bible, pen, and notebook ready
During Your Time of Fasting:
Place yourself in the presence of God and pray, “Lord, here I am.”
Spend time worshiping God for His faithfulness. Thank Him for the ways He has come through for you.
Bring your desires before the Lord. Ask Him if they align with His will and His Word—for you and for our church.
Be still. Listen. Offer your desires and prayers to God.
A Note of Encouragement:
When fasting becomes difficult, share your thoughts and feelings with Jesus. Use mealtimes for prayer. When hunger comes, sit with Jesus and feed on the Bread of Heaven.
Fasting reminds us that we care about our souls, the church, the world, and doing God’s will. We are willing to set aside a measure of comfort so we can listen for and receive nourishment from God alone.
Fasting is not a way to manipulate God or earn holiness. It does not earn points with God.
Rather, it is an opportunity to lay down an appetite—for food, media, or comfort—so God can give grace, comfort, and nurture that we cannot provide for ourselves.
As we fast, we become more aware of our dependence on God, placing ourselves in a posture of submission and sensitivity to His voice.
We encourage you to prepare your heart to hear from God during this 25-day season of prayer and fasting.
Each evening, there will be a short closing devotion at 7:00 PM on Zoom to conclude the day. Every Wednesday is already dedicated as All Nations Day of Prayer and Fasting, and we invite you to consider participating on the other days throughout this season as well.
